The best 4 teams ranked at the end of the season play the semifinals, and the worst club has to play next season in the second category. Semifinals are played at the popular Twickenham stadium that is located at southwest London and is home of the English National rugby team.
The rugby clubs that compete in the Guinness Premiership have the possibility to qualify for the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup. These cups represent the most competitive level among European rugby clubs. The 4 top ranked teams of the Premiership are qualified to these cups, but the system could vary depending on different facts, such as the last champion nationality, among others.
